  1. Indycar.com often has live race video for the races, but not always. I do not know if it will be available for the 500, but you can always check the site on race day.

  2. IndyCar.com and Indy500.com will have video feeds, but why would you waste your time watching crapwagons when you can watch Monaco instead?

  3. I'm sorry to say:  The only way to watch it LIVE on the net is not likely to be the type of coverage you are probably looking for.  It WILL keep you in the loop, though ;*)

The official websites www.indycar.com and www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com (or one of the sites mentioned in the other answers) offer FREE LIVE STREAMING, but not the "full production" like you'd see on TV.

Over the years, the best way I've found of watching LIVE IRL races on the net is by visiting www.indycar.com just before race time and accessing their time-relative link for live streaming (only available during broadcast times.)  You have to register (one time only, and it's FREE) and sign in each time you return to the site.

The audio/video is often choppy (seems to be worse with more viewers, and less with less viewers) but I rectify the audio portion by muting it there and also opening the IMS Radio Broadcast (available in their "Multimedia" drop-down menu at top of main page) and listening to the official broadcast via my Windows MediaPlayer.

The above process will give you a reasonably professional overall view of what's happening -- when it's happening.  Other than that, you will likely have to wait for ABC's tape delay on TV.

I'm a bit rabid on IRL and would happily assist you if you have any problems with the above directions.  Just drop me an email here and I'll get back to you and help with what I can.

Hope this gets you a little closer to the action!

  4. Well there are streams out there.

i personally would never use those p2p sites using sopcast or any other thing similar again. Those sites are often fakes or have teams of hackers behind it trying to make huge botnets for net wars. Or sometimes they even find your personall info or creditcard info. i'd never use p2p for anything. When you peer you often break the law or expose your computer to hackers.

i've been using www.streamtvnow.tv for 6 years now and they supply the best quality live streams you will find on the net.

Live, good quality and from dedicated servers, no weird connections on your network and using software like winamp.

It looks great on my big screen and i am sure it will on yours!

  5. You can try indy500.com. It has had the entire practice, and qualifying sessions.  I don't know if it will cover the race, but with the name like that, I imagine that will be the case.

  6. indycar.com
