Could it be LOVE? Please help me! :(?

This guy and I have been friends for 4 years now, and he recently has moved 300 miles away for college. We each had feelings for eachother at times, but they were either unrequited at the time, or it was impractical and impossible to persue a relationship. We haven't really kept in touch this last summer, but out of the blue he starts texting me last Sunday. Since then, we have texted and talked NON-STOP for a solid week. I find myself so worried about him and his safety, and he makes promises to me about when he comes home about every three weekends. Could this guy have feelings other than as a friend for me? Do guys usually talk to girls CONSTANTLY that they dont like/want to persue something more with?

It seems that way that now that he has moved away he knows that he misses you and he found out he wants to stay in touch with you. He realized that when he was 300 miles away. And he realized he has known you for 4 years and he doesn't want to lose you. Obviously more is developing here now as you are all of a sudden concerned for his safety. I believe you should meet when he gets home. Give him a call or mention in an email if he would be interested to go out for a coffee with you. Then you can talk and learn more about each other without looking desperate and you may find out if this is more... it seems to be suddenly gone ''zoom '' on both your parts.. when it was only one sided before. Maybe people have to lose each other first or almost lose each other before they realize how important they are to each other.,.. that could well be the case here.. Just talk to him a normal chat.. and you will learn more and not look desperate.. share some laughs and listen to each other and talk to each other then you will find out if you are a good ''match.''
