I'm a 17 year old female and I run alot, recently about 40 miles a week, and I've started having my left leg go completely numb each time I run. At first it's fine but after about 3 or 4 miles my foot gets tingly and then my entire leg goes numb and I can barely feel myself even running on it and it's really weird and pretty annoying. Is this a pinched nerve? Is there anything I can do to change it?

  1. You may have a pinched nerve, or you may have a pulled muscle that is compressing a nerve.  Have you ever been to a chiropractor? Also do you run on pavement? You might benefit from seeing a chiropractor.  Your pelvis may need to be adjusted into place.  Sometimes if you run on pavement the hard surface is hard for your body to absorb, this can cause you to pull your spine out of alignment and this in turn can cause muscle tension.  It can be like that for a while before you feel it.  I would suggest making sure that you stretch everyday and check out a chiropractor.
