okay so for the past couple weeks ive had this little pea sized lump under my right arm. (inside the armpit)

and i was wondering if this could be breast cancer.

last night i was checking my b*****s to see if i could find any lumps.

and i felt something but i cant really tell if its a lump.

im going to go to the doctor on tuesday. but im worried.

do u think it could be breast cancer?

my breast are not sore; no pain. no itchyness or redness.

also there is no irritation.

i cannot see any physical difference. they look the same

but i was just wondering.

  1. I dont wanna scare you but it can happen at your age also especially if it runs in the family. What you felt may be nothing also, try not to let it ruin your weekend. I wish you all the best!

  2. do you shave under your arms because it could be a razor bump and if your not having any symptoms the lump is probably just the little thingy in your areola lol i dont know what the thingy is called but i always feel it..or some woman just have naturally lumpy breast.

  3. I would get it checked out, an MRI scan would probably be hard to tell because your breast tissue would be too dense.

See a professional, I have read articles where 21 year olds have had breast cancer but the doctors thought they were too young and it had gone to higher stages because they "waited".

    Get it checked out!

  4. upload a picture and i'll let you know

  5. breast cancer in anyone under the age of 30 is very very VERY rare! I highly dount its cancer. It's most likely a cyst. I've had them before. I even had one in my armpit like you have. it lasted a week or 2 then it slowly started to get smaller, and now its completly gone. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it lasts more than a month or so, and your really worried, then get it checked out. But I'm sure your fine.

  6. while breast cancer can be completely symptom free, i had no symptoms when i was diagnosed, it is really rare at your age

the little lump in your arm pit could be as simple as a swollen lymph node from a number of small things

  7. Well, clearly, if it's under your arm, it's not breast cancer. That's usually local to...your b*****s! Don't be such a worrier. It's not cancer of any kind. Even if it DOES does end up being a big deal, you're going to the doctor early. You're fine.

  8. Breast cancer is mainly a disease of ageing; 80% of those diagnosed are over 50, it's rare in women under 40 and it's almost unheard of in under 25s. The American Cancer Society recommends that women begin breast self-examination at the age of 20 - there's a reason for that.

While a lump under the arm can sometimes be a symptom of breast cancer most breast and underarm lumps, even in women over 50, aren't cancerous. There may be all sorts of reasons for the lump you describe - a swollen lymph node can simply be a sign of infection, even an infection so mild you didn't know you had it.

As you are concerned, you are right to go to the doctor, but don't let worrying spoil your weekend - bear in mind how very, very, very unlikely it is that you have breast cancer at your age,

  9. Inside the armpit - it is most likely a lymph node :)

they are usually less than 1cm, and they can be a little bit painful. You can feel them when you have a bit of an infection (even when you dont feel sick, and your body is fighting something off)

It is nothing to worry about - if it doesnt go away in a few weeks, you can ask your doctor. But i am a med student, and we check under armpits for lymph nodes all the time :)

  10. it could be an infected sweat gland, try not to worry hun your getting it checked out so you'll know soon enough :)
