Question:

Could it be eczema?

My 9 year old son was begging me to go to the inside swimming pool with his friend this afternoon, so I allowed it. I told him not to go in the whirlpool for very long periods of time and he said okay. He is home now, and obviously he didn't listen to me because his

skin turned flaky and wrinkly, obviously from sitting in the whirlpool and steam room for a long period of time. Little pieces of dry and flaky skin are coming off his legs, arms, back and worst on his feet.

He said he just forgot, and even though you are supposed to be 16 to enter the whirlpool he did it anyways. What would be the best way to clear this all up?

  1. It's probably not eczema if this is the first time you noticed it. The chemicals in hot tubs pull the moisture right out of your skin. Get out the moisturizer mom!

  2. i would get it check even though they have chlorine in the whirl pool it could be a fungle infection,or the hot water triggered psoriosis, this happened to my husband after doing the same thing your son did,it triggered the psoriosis.

please take him to a dermatologist you dont want him to end up with a staff infection,or blood poisoning which also happened to my husband !

  3. This is not eczema. He got chemical burn from to much chlorine. You need to treat it as soon as possible, it will get so sensitive, use Eurserin cream, that helps alot.
