Could it really be eczema?

On the first of this month we took my daughter to the doctors for a rash. The doctor determined it to be eczema. Well, over the weekend, a lot of areas have grown to the size of dimes. They are dark red, not swollen, oval shape, the smaller ones are circular. They are soft like her skin, not scaly. The biggest has what looks like a blister in the middle but its flat. When I see it in the light I can see the discoloration. Is this really eczema? I'm worried it might be ringworm, but I haven't gotten it yet. Waiting for doctor to call back, but worried. She's been cranky lately, eating normal, sleeping normal at night. Naps during the day have been wierd, because she cut down to two very short naps. She's nine months old. Any ideas?

  1. it sounds like it is eczema. 3 of my four kids have it and it appears differently on all of them. my oldest skin blothces, my second oldest get dry patches behind her ears, knees and the creases of her arms. My son get itchy. My nephew gets what your baby has so I believe its eczema.

  2. When my son had eczema he had it on his face, arms, legs, belly, etc...but the worse was on his arm were he looked liked he was a burned victim (and this was normal!)...I was told not to cover it (with a bandage) so his onsies would get stuck to it all the time (it was winter at the time which is why he had long sleeves)...so it is normal what you are describing (my son was probably around the same age as your daughter)...and on a positive note, my son has not had an outbreak in a very long time and he will be 4 in August...I actually forget he had eczema at one time (because I was scared he would have it for life)...
