Question:

Could large clots be a sign of something?

I have always started my period around the same time. This month for some odd reason, I started it about two weeks earlier than usual. I also went through three heavy pads in an hour and a half. I have clots that range from the size of a ping pong ball to quite a few the size of my fist. I have never bled this heavy or early, let alone passed clots like this. I am also having cramping in the front and I have always gotten cramping in my back...Does anyone have any input?

  1. does not sound normal to me you should not go through that many pads and blood clots are not normal acording to my dr so you should make an appointment with your dr and get it chaecked out

  2. If your clots are that large you need to see a doctor immediately. This is serious and you could loose a lot of blood. I work in an ER so I am not just blowing smoke up your butt.

  3. Yes.  Is there a possibility you could have been pregnant?  If you are still having the heavy flow, and can soak through a super pad in less than an hour, it's time to visit the emergency room.  You could well be misscarrying, and might need some assistance.  Meantime, massage the lower belly very firmly to help the uterus clamp down and slow the bleeding.  And go see the doctor.
