I have 3 mice and two dwarf hamsters (in separate cages) and was wondering if there could be any health problems in connecting their cages so they could live together? They get along fine when I have them sitting in my hands or when I let them run around in the bath tub. They don't fight or even play fight. I have 2 Crittertrail cages and I can easily connect them. I thought it would be fun to experiment but wanted to make sure that combining two species in the same environment wouldn't cause health problems. Thanks!

PS

They're all males.

  1. NO! I promise you......since they are different breeds and well different rodents they will kill each other becase each one has it's own living style and are both dominant. thats why its so hard just to have hamsters(male and female) live together. Hopefully that helped.

  2. they may end up fighting with each other.  i would keep them separate.

  3. Considering as they are two different species I dont think you should even try as you will most likley end up with some dead critters.
