  1. that would be great if they could

i watch mma all the time EliteXC, StrkeForce, UFC and i have noticed that by the 2nd round, if it goes that far, they look tired and if they have a bad cut under the eye most likly it would be stoped by the 12th round. On the other hand i am sure that some other fighters could go more than the 3 rounds they are givin...

  2. if the y were fit enough they could.

  3. MMA is not just standing up throwing Jabs like Boxing. It is a lot more demanding than boxing. So to answer your question, No.

  4. First, we must have respect for all fighters from any discipline because they have the courage to let their fists do the talking. Most of all, we must have great respect for those who are champions in their discipline/field without discriminating what contest they participated in.  so people should respect a boxing champion just as much as a wrestling or mma champion.

could mma fighters do 12 rounds. They could (the human body can adapt to a lot of challenges) but, it most likely will not get there because they would most likely to knock each other out or tape out within 5 rounds.

Differenot ball games all together. In boxing, if you have fast foot work and long arms, you can play a defensive game by moving around and j**s and move. And you can last 12 rounds if you don't get caught.

In mma, it is very difficult to play a defensive game, because there are too many openings. It can be all over if you make a mistake. A mistake can cause you a knockout or a tap out. There is no 10 counts to give you a chance to recover. Therefore, mma fighters have to try and finish off their opponents when ever possible.

In a real street fight, it would last even less. When there are no rules, all vulnerable points can be strike and no soft ground to land on.

So, a good fight is not determined by how many rounds the fighters can last. And a good fighter is not determine by how long he can last. it depends on the intensities and the skills involves.

In my opinion, the best fight matches have to be the elligal underground, or the official platform fighting in china back in the old days. Fighters have to sign a waiver form before they fight, so if they die as a result of the challenge, no is will be charge. What great about platform fighting was the fact that, they let their fighting do the talking. Any disagreements on who was a better fighter, or which style was better or more effecitve would have been settle on the platform. No bullshit, no limit, no rules. That is the only way to truely determine works and what's not.

  5. of course they could, mma is either 5 5 min rounds or 3 5 min rounds and for the most part its non stop punches kicks take downs and submissions. where boxing is a lot of movement and punches. not to take anything away from a boxer but lets see boxers go for 5 5 minute rounds with no bobbing and weaving just punch after punch.

  6. That would be h**l for them. I assume your comparing this to boxing. Its easier for boxers to go 12 rounds because they are only focusing on one aspect of fighting. MMA on the other hand has to worry about takedowns, clinch, elbows, knees, submissions, kicks, etc. thats why its only 3 rounds. Its just too intense.
