Could music files MP3 contain a virus ?

My computer has a virus if i back up my music and put them on my new computer could i transfer the virus across

yes viruses can infect what ever they want......run a virus scan on you music and if it comes back clean then you should be safe to move it over

if your virus scan didn't find anything it's probably not on any of your ordinary files. just reinstall windows, you should be fine backing up the music and transferring it there
