Could my computer be a reason why the internet is stooping almost every time?

my internet stops working but my messenger works most of the time. the internet works after i unplug and plug the modem is there any thing i can do to stop this?

Get some anti-spyware programs and anti-virus programs, you probably have a lot of stuff taking up traffic on port 80 (port used for the internet) and have to reset the router. Messenger still works because it works on a different port if I remember correctly.

It is almost always the internet service provider. Golden choice: Get a router an connect another computer, or just unplug the problematic computer and plug in the other one. Is internet back, now?

Spybot: Search and Destroy and CCleaner work well together...

if it's just AIM, then it's a DNS error. as AIM does not use port 80
