Could my crossman 1077 c02 pellet riffle kill a rabbit?

could my corssman 1077 12 shot c02 it shoots at 625fps kill a rabbit? and what type of pellet will i need to use and what else could it kill? eny help plz?

If you use the pointed hunting style pellets and place a clean shot to the head, it should work. A pellet kills by penetration much like an arrowhead. Speed and accuracy is the key to success. Rabbits are about the largest I would shoot for. Squirrel is a possibility, but only with a head shot. They have very tough skins that can severely slow down a pellet. Better to use a faster pellet gun if possible though. Or a 22 short rifle round. Almost as quiet and more successful on small game.

The Crosman 1077 is not powerful enough to make an effective, clean, humane kill on small game(rabbit)

IMO, it takes around 6.0fpe at impact with proper shot placement to hunt rabbit.

Domed pellets work best for hunting - Crosman Premier domed lights are good pellets, but they may be a little on the heavy side for your rifle - The Beeman Laser(6.5gr) is a very good pellet as well and probably would perform better in the 1077 -

You could hunt mice, frogs, pigeon*, and of course you can always go on backyard safari(bug busting).

There are rifles in the same price range as your Crosman 1077 that could be used to hunt small game(rabbit, squirrel, etc) The Tech Force 34(TF34) $55(850fps) is one.

For small game hunting, better still would be one of the Crosman break barrel guns, Phantom, Quest, Storm XT, or the Ruger AIr Hawk. They are all reasonable powerful and reasonable accurate, just don't expect well made and durable.

The Benjamin 397 is well made and suitable for small game hunting.

Yes, and have a small game license.  Eat what you shoot and if you're not willing to do that, than stop trying to kill for the sake of killing.

The pellet rifle is plenty.  No special pellet needed but there are many hunting tip pellets designed for small game hunting.  Go to your local sporting good store and any one of them will work and may actually improve your velocity.

What else could you Kill?  Again why?  If you're hunting great, if your getting kicks off of killing small animals seek help.

Your pellet rifle will be able to bring down just about anything smaller than a bread box if aimed properly.
