  1. Yes, you can still get pregnant right after giving birth even if you haven't had your period.  While I don't know when you'd be able to tell if you are or not, it's worth mentioning to your doctor.  In the mean time, you need to use a condom.  Right after being pregnant is one of the more fertile times in your life.

  2. Yes, you could still get pregnant.  Even moms who don't breastfeed can still get pregnant,  despite the elevated hormone levels, many not having ever gotten their period since birth.

No, your doctor probably wouldn't be able to tell so early, and certainly wouldn't notice off hand.  It takes several weeks after conception to be able to accurately test for pregnancy, at the very least two weeks for first response, low hormone finding tests.  Since you're body is still balancing itself out from giving birth, any hormonal test you took right now might turn out positive, just because of that, even if you aren't.

Next time you want to have s*x wait until your doc has established you on a form of birth control, or use a condom, just to be sure.

  3. Yes, you can get pregnant again if you are not being careful.  And yes, your doctor would know if you are pregnat when they go to check you out down there  :)

  4. In my opinion the answer is yes. It's not too early for your doctor to be able to tell if you are pregnant. Your doctor can also tell if you've been sexually active if he/she does a vaginal exam. I actually had a friend that got pregnant 3 weeks after she had her first child because she had s*x with her husband that early after and she hadn't had her period yet either. Hope that helps....

  5. Blood tests are basically only accurate 24 hours or less before urine tests.  Many doctors do not even do blood pregnancy tests anymore because there are basically no advantages over urine.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having s*x to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the s*x act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)
