Question:

Could my health be in danger because the gym I workout in is right next to a busy expressway?

The gym I weight lift and do karate in is located approximately 1/2 a quarter mile from a busy expressway. I realize that there have been studies correlating attending schools next to, or living in homes in proximity of expressways (because of the polluted air), with subtle neurological deficits, as well as an observable exacerbation in a person's chances at developing asthma later in life. Should I be concerned simply by spending an hour or two several days a week at this gym, because of all the harsh and intensive breathing I do while exercising?

  1. yeah maybe you´re right because i heard somewhere about a man who ran everyday in the mornings near the roads and there was a lot of air pollution so he got lung cancer as if he smoked and he didn´t

  2. no, the expresswya is farther away and you arent spending that much time next to it. WHat about the people who commute for hours on expressways?
