Question:

Could my molars be coming in?

I'm 13 yrs old, and very recently i've been feeling this pain in the bottom right jaw. Whenever I smile it hurts, and i can definitely trigger pain when I touch my cheek but other than that it doesn't really hurt.

On the outside (when i feel my cheek) it feels like it is behind my first molar, but when i feel it from inside its seems to be under my last back tooth. Could it be growing in the wrong place or is this normal?

  1. Hello there!

It sounds like your twelve year molars (or second molars) are coming in.  You are teething, just like when you were a baby!  LOL  Take some pain releiver such as children's motrin, or adult motrin (depending on your size, and your parents' permission), and you will be fine.

If you would really like to be sure, ask your dentist at your next cleaning... you should be getting your teeth cleaned every six months.  Are you due to see your dentist soon?  ;-)

    Good luck.
