  1. i dont think so

i think you just love it

    it is good for you

dont forget your banana on it for fruits

    and have some veggies

  2. No, cravings don't always mean you need to eat the thing you crave, since EVERYTHING can be addicting, some people can't stop doing cocaine or eating Ben and Jerry's but does that mean that it's a deficiency? Nope. You just think it tastes or feels good and you want to keep giving yourself the instant gratification.......! it takes willpower but you have to say no to yourself. Most peanut butters are just a ton of fat and salt and sugar so there's not much there, a jar is thousands of calories (every 2 tablespoons is 200 cal!) and basically it's like chewing on a stick of butter if you ask me, there is protein in there and some nutrients but is it worth all the crud that comes with it?? Just don't buy another jar and maybe find something else to eat, and next time you have an  appetite instead of running to the cupboard to eat peanut butter have something healthy instead.

  3. I see this question is in the Vegetarian and Vegan catagorie, so it makes me wonder if you are craving the protein in peanut butter.

Also, sometimes we crave the very things that are worst for us, so please take note of how your body feels after eating it.

See if you can go a day or preferably at least two, then have some p.b. and see how you're feeling.

With so many thumbs down opinions, I can only guess that the vegetarians among you are taking my answer as a criticism, which it is NOT.  Vegetarianism is fine for some people and I have a number of close friends and a sister who are vegetarians or vegans.  Its not necessarily suitable for everyone.

And I stand by my advice that 'listening' to one's body for a reaction to food is a valid form of finding whats best for our own particular body.    Wishing you all good health  ......     :)

  4. yum

    ask your local doctor :)

  5. Dude! A jar in 2 days is a lot of peanut butter, You need to get your protein from other things too. Get a couple veggie cookbooks and learn to make things other then PB&J sandwiches.

BTW: I could easily get addicted to that all natural peanut butter too, that is good stuff :o)

  6. Are you eating any beans or any other kind of protein than peanut butter? If the answer is no than you are probably filling a physical need. If the answer is yes than you probably just like it a lot.

  7. No its just good because fat is addicting...go for the "natural" peanut butter, with no hydrogenated oil

  8. I don't think your deficient in anything.  Sounds like you just really like peanut butter!  When I was a child I would only eat mac and cheese 3 times a day, for atleast 2 years.

As long as you are a healthy weight (peanut butter is high calorie) there is nothing really to worry about, peanut butter is very very healthy and contains GOOD fat.  I'd suggest a good quality multi vitamin though to make sure you are getting enough of other essential vitamins.

  9. Idk, but i'm glad to know there are other wierd food addicts! For me (don't puke) it's canned smoked oysters with tabasco that's all i ever want for lunch. It kind goes in spurts though thats what i"ll eat for a couple months then i get burned out then i go back to em!

Maybe i should switch to peanut butter!

  10. no ur fine just lay off a little you will be fine. try to eat 1 jar in 3 or 4 days then ur addiction will soon go away

  11. it might be becasue I do the exact same thing!I became a vegetarian and I take a vitamin too everyday but I don't know why I really like it now, when before I hardley ate it.

  12. Um, you don't have a defiency if you have an addiction. Unless your body feels suddenly weak, or something's wrong with your digestion or something.

  13. Well find out wat is in peanut butter that could do that to u. I no that there is a lot of protein in it...but i dont think that would do that....Hm...go to webmd.com and look it up..hope that helps!

  14. You could be lacking something in your diet, and therefore experiencing a craving. However, what you are craving does not necessarily mean you need something in the peanut butter.

You could also just really enjoy the peanut butter. Eating releases dopamine(pleasure hormone), which keeps people coming back for more. You could also have happy associations with pb(maybe mom made it for you everyday after school in 1st grade, etc), these pleasant associations also release dopamine.

Sometimes cravings come from a drop in blood sugar, or hunger. There is no exact science when it comes to cravings and why they happen. The brain is more complex than "I need Magnesium, so where's the peanut butter?" It is probably closer to the brain knowing something is off, so it raises dopamine, serotonin, etc. and the brain interprets those chemical releases as a craving for a certain food. Weather the food is the one you need is unknown.

  15. Eating an unbalanced diet like that shows that you have a deficiency in common sense, I am sorry to say.
