Could my trailer come off the truck?

Im going on a trip were we are taking a trailer on the back of the truck , is it safe to sit in the trailer while the truck is moving? even if we go on a high way?

  1. Not safe.  Probably not even legal.


  2. Passengers may NOT legally ride in a trailer that is being towed by a vehicle.  And as to whether the trailer can disconnect from the truck, the answer is yes.

  3. It's not safe, and I can tell you without question that in the U.S., it is definitely not legal.

    It's also not very comfortable.  The A/C won't be running, and it's not easy to communicate with the driver if you need to pull over.  And since the water won't be connected, you'll have to pull over to find restrooms, etc.

    If there are more than two of you on the trip, you'll need to find something other than a pick-up truck to haul with, so that you have seatbelts for every passenger.

  5. It is illegal in all states..........In 5th wheel campers and trailers, it is illegal to have passengers ride in them while driving.

    Cops do enforce this law.
