Question:

Could my wife have really seen an orb?

My wife claims that last night, she saw an "orb" of light, in the corner of the room, near the ceiling, for about a minute. Of course, I asked lots of questions.

-She was definitely awake.

-It was definitely INSIDE the house, not a light shining in from outside.

-She might misidentify things, but she does not make up stories.

In addition, she and other family members seem sensitive to paranormal experiences, such as having OBE's, and seeing apparitions.

I'm not entirely convinced, but I am intrigued.

Any ideas? What could she have seen?

I don't know much about orbs, and this is the first "thing" we've seen in the house.

  1. I would believe her :)

I am only 15 (tomorrow) but my dad had a rental movie from the library that told me all about them, I was amazed

    Its called "Orbs" i think.

Good Luck, try taking pictures with a flash camera!

  2. If she was definitely awake, then my guess is that it was probably a reflection. Are you sure you can eliminate the possibility of a car headlight coming through a window and reflecting off something? Secondly, she may be sure she was awake, but how sure are you that she was? Dreams on the edge of waking or sleeping can be awfully hard to discern as reality or dream.

  3. There are, in fact, a few accounts of people seeing orbs. In general, orbs are nonreflective balls of light. They are not intelligent-acting, don't seem to actually react to anything, and are startling to those who see them.

However rare the occurrence, there is reason to suspect that she may have seen one. The question is one of whether or not this was a real event. In order to be validated as a paranormal event, normal causes must be eliminated first.

If you wanted to, you could buy an EMF detector and see if there are any strong fields in your home. Check around electrical devices and wiring, because strong fields (12 or higher) might cause hallucinations and intense feelings of paranoia and uneasiness. If you find any fixtures or outlets (or even spots in the walls and ceilings) with a reading above about 3, you may want to have a qualified electrician check to make sure that it's wired correctly.

Also, remember to turn off the computer and monitor at night. These can sometimes emit high EMF's for no apparent reason.

Any appliances (including lamps, clock-radios, microwave, etc.) which emit high-level EMF's should likewise be replaced. EMF's are one of the most likely culprits in orb sightings, for a wide number of reasons (not all of them having to do with your wife).

  4. If your wife says she saw an orb, then she did.  An orb is a lost soul searching for a way out.  If she sees it again have her talk to it.

  5. I'd have her checked for a brain tumor.

  6. I've seen those a lot and they're especially easy to catch on camera.  I've taken a few pictures of them myself.  It's up to you to decide what to make of it since everyone has their theories but I believe in spirits and that's what I believe they are.  People that are just wondering around not realizing that they've passed away

  7. Maybe she has a floater in her eye or some other visual problem.

  8. Apart from a Woody Allen film's Orb ...to be sure u should call back the apparition, together. Symbiotic psi may occur to quell ur Q.

Always believe the story told to you, internally ration reality, metaphor, and simile

  9. I was told that an orb is the easiest way for a spirit to manifest in the physical realm. To fully manifest takes quite a bit of energy for them. An orb is kind of like their natural form in the physical realm.

Could she really have seen it? I believe she could have. I see them all the time all around me. I say give her the benefit of the doubt. Someone wanted her to see them. Has she asked about someone recently? Meaning, has she, say, prayed for a lost loved one, wondered if they were okay on the other side, that sort of thing? Cause I'm getting that it might have been an answer to something....

EDIT: yeah, I can understand that, especially around here. If it makes you feel any better, chances are really good he's around you. Love never dies. My father died over 6 years ago and I still feel him around me from time to time. So, if it is him, he'll keep trying until he finds something that gets your attention. My father came with the smell of boiling hotdogs, of all things. lol My grandfather comes with the smell freshly brewed coffee.

  10. You are contradicting yourself.  You say that "she does not make up stories" but "seems sensitive to paranormal experiences, such as having OBE's, and seeing apparitions."  Are you familiar with the old robot expression "DOES NOT COMPUTE"?

  11. If you have searched out every possible earthly reason then look to the paranormal. Actually to prove it isn't earthly you would need someone  who specialized a scientific exam of what is going on in the house.

There are things like underground energy or electric activity in the house itself create a termporary orb. It can also be a combination of the human electric activity and the underground activity.

An other reason is there was a paranormal spirit, angel, ghost, an over laying of time, or seeing a past inprint.

After my dad died my mother moved back to the midwest. From her first night in the new home she had a tiny little pen-light-sort of thing coming from a cornor of the room to the other side of the room making a small little dott of light. She felt it was sent by my dad who had died, to help her feel safe.  There was absolutly earthly explaination for the light. I never saw the light myself.

To the day - on the one year anniversary the tiny light was gone.

She isn't the sort of person to believe in something like a paranormal thing. I believe it was my dad's way of connecting to my mom.

If you have more activity get a paralegal group check things out. Or speak up and tell the orb to leave.
