Could my xbox 360 support 7.1 surround sound?

I dont own an xbox but if it can decode DTS then I'd say yes. Connect your xbox to a 7.1 surround sound receiver and try it with a DTS Movie. Most games aren't in encoded in 7.1 so it'd be superflous to expect 7.1 out of them. 5.1 is the most i've heard in games.
