So could you, my parents have been giving me a drink of pure aloe vera straight from the plant with a mix of orange. Wasn't quite sure if it is safe to do this.

  1. Two things:

It's kinda of oozy, and it takes awhile to squeeze enough out of a leaf (or stalk or whatever), so while you can it would be hard and the consistency would not be easily drinkable (like drinking honey).

Also, I am fairly certain you don't want to eat aloe vera.

  2. ya it is safe but bitter as h**l!!.. back in africa my mom use to do the same, with no orange juice, just the aloe vera juice, i normally throw up 50% of the time!!..

  3. u can definately drink aloe vera straight from the plant ..it isnt harmful in fact it is in its purest form

the reason they mix it with orange juice is to make it tastier...it is definately safe ...dont worry... trust them

u will have great skin and healthy body

  4. It's not just safe, but it's very good for your body, especially in these areas: your skin (helps in healthy skin proliferation [regrowth, occuring every second!] ), your hair (will help make it more supple and healthy and strong), and in your gastrointestinal tract (this can really help you with any GI problems like upset stomach, ulcers, and some studies suggest colon for men, later in your life, that is, especially). I used to own a natural products franchise I worked from home, and the Oasis Aloe Vera drink was a thinner version ofthe gel straight from the plant...aslo ,by drinking it straight from the stalks, you have the utmost (the highest) in potency, which is often lowered when aloe is processed and sold in stores.  I have aloe plants outside (I live in FL) and I use them for when I get nasty scratches or cuts and do not have neosporin or the like.  Great for sunburns!!

BUT, I don't know if drinking it with Orange juice would be my choice- maybe with 100% pure grape juice instead- if I'm not mistaken , grape juice will assist in the bioabsoprtion properties of your aloe (it makes your body suck it up better and more effectively, etc)..  This is due to grapes' healthy properties, too.  Good luck finding a suitable and tasty concoction, but the bottom line is you'll save money if you make it yourself, especially if you're just growing it yourself! (maybe try berries or dark-pigmented grapes).

  5. thanks for all the useful info

    best wishes

  6. The drink mix is totally safe in the minds of many people.

And, yes, people have been using the juice/gel straight from the plant for centuries, but trust me--you wouldn't WANT to! It tastes terrible, very bitter!

So, the stuff in the bottle is better, and wouldn't contain any possible chemicals sprayed on the plant, or dung from bugs, birds or pets. Ewww!

  7. Yes.  If you add honey in it, the better.

  8. yes you can, but I wouldn't suggest it.  Usually it's bitter or tart, and quite pungent.  It is used to calm stomach pains, ulcers, and other digestive problems.  usually straight from the plant is best for topical use, but if you take it from the plant and dilute it, you can lessen the impact of the flavor.
