Could organized crime ever take over the government?

(I live in Canada) but I guess in the states too? What if they all just got together and said f*** the government? Do you think that could ever happen?

Of course, they already have in the US a long time ago, money for favours. People get the government they deserve, so if we in Canada continue to slide farther and farther away from morality we'll elect governments that represent our standards.

They already have.  What is congress other than a kind of organized crime that robs you using IRS agents instead of hit men.
