but his jui jitsu would give him a better chance than alot of guys(even though he rarely was striking)

Rickson was only dominant in the early days of mma when nobody else knew jujitsu.  I have seen several of his Pride fights, and none of his opponents had any ground skills.  Now everyone knows submissions and submission defense.  Fedor would destroy him.

Alex is right, the gracie family rulled mma in the early days when the other guys had no ground game or take down defence. back then the juijitsu guys had the advantage over the stand up guys.

i think that over the last few years the stand up guys, especialy the muai thai background fighters have learned to defend against takedowns(sprawling) and are now very dominant in the mma world.

you just got to look at most of the UFC champions at the moment, GSP, Silva, Rampage even coutour to some degree are all naturaly stand up fighters.

so to answer your question fedor would win hands down.
