Okay, well there was this 13 year old pregnant. This woman from her church offered her help while she was pregnant. Well the girl had her baby, and the woman said "I'm done helping you, but I will be taking your baby." Then she put the baby up for adoption. I KNOW it the girl was young, but did the woman have the right to just take the baby? Isn't that illegal? I would want the baby to be raised by someone capable, but the girl barely even got to say goodbye.

And it's not me. I'm not pregnant.

Yes, I've asked this, but I got no answers. Thanks. <3

  1. Its illegal for someone to just take a baby. Its called kidnapping or child-stealing!

The only way this woman could take the girl's baby legally was if the girl actually signed custody papers. Since she is under 18, her parents would probably have to sign as well.

  2. That wouldn't happen.. that's illegal. A woman can't just kidnap a child and put it up for adoption. No way.

  3. YES THE LADY NEEDS THE COPS CALLED ON HER QUICK DO IT PLEASE

  4. You have no right to set someone elses baby up for adoption.

She would be kidnapping, unless the baby was in her name.

  5. NO that's illegal the woman has no rights to the child what so ever even if she did help to support the pregnant teenager. The only way the child could legally be put up for adoption is if the teen mother signed away her parental rights.

  6. That is illegal. No matter how young the girl is she would have to sign away her rights in order for them to put her baby up for adoption. You should tell her to go to the police and charge the woman with kidnapping. Best of luck.

  7. I am sure there is more to this story. Maybe the woman worked for a place that did adoptions. SHe couldn't just take the baby without permission and signing by the girls parents. I am sure something is missing here.
