I was wondering if somebody under 18, could book a plane ticket without ones' parents knowing. Or if they could ask somebody that they knew that was 18+ to buy a ticket for them, would they have to do any additional details, once they get to the airport?

  1. Yes. I done it myself when I was 16 and 17.

  2. Someone under 18 can not buy a ticket, as they cannot legally sign a contract.

It depends how much under 18 for part 2.  Over 15, yes.  Here's the rub.  Technically, by providing a minor the means to leave parental custody without parent or guardian consent, that person could be committing a state or federal crime, in some cases a felony.  There's a lot of factors involved here, so think carefully about what you may or may not be considering.

  3. I did all the time.... I flew across the world and paid cash or used a cashiers check from my bank account my parents set up for me as went to a boarding school.

I traveled across the US and transatlantic flights all the time. I was 13 when I first did it (in 8th grade). But that was 1980!

  4. no thats to young. they will refuse you
