Okay, just assuming that this is true, can you answer these questions about this what if scenario:

I have exactly 100 shares of Microsoft stock. It has a value of 28 dollars a share. The dividend is 0.11 and the yield is 1.57.

How much money would those stocks generate for me before taxes were applied? Please show math, if possible. Also, would it bring dividends only once a year or in 4 separate quaters of one year?

  1. Each share will pay you $0.11 every quarter, or 4 times per year.

100 shares times $0.11 is $11 per quarter.

$11 per quarter times 4 quarters per year is $44.
