Could someone answer these questions?

1. I have already received a approve letter for my green card 2 months ago. How long it take to get the actual card after the approve letter?

2. I plan to move to another state and it mean I have to resign my present job (the one that sponsor me for the green card) and look for another job. Can I resign my present job immediately after I receive the green card? If I cannot do that how long I have to stay with the present job?

3. Do I have do anything after I received the green card (ex. Yearly fee, yearly renewal, etc?)

Thank you in advance

  1. Just wait it will come eventually. Anyways, you were already approved. It is just the card you are waiting for.

You may seek alternative employment as soon as your green card is in your posession. You could at least show some gratitude to the employer that sponsored you.

    Just read the link:**

  2. if i were you, i would definitly wait for my green card before moving .....

do not forget to file :

    Change of Address

You are required to notify us of any change of address within 10 days of that change. Form AR-11 is used for that purpose. You can learn more about change of address requirements is found at "How Do I Report a Change of Address?"

it takes about 5 months to receive your green card

the green card is valid for 10 years ,no yearly fees ,the date is written on your card .....

renewal can be made 6 months before it expires

you may want to read this article on green card holders , it contains alot of informations :

  3. Well if I was U I would stay with the company for a little bit more time than just up and quit after U get ur Green Card I mean they did after all put themselves on the line for U to get it right. And there is no yearly fee or anything for it the Green card is good for 10 years unless its a conditional green card then its good for 2 years. And as fas as how long it takes to receive it U would be better off calling INS and asking them and U would get a better answer

  4. Call the INS 1-800-375-5283

  5. How can you write such good English.

How did you manage to apply for a card and not do any research on how to keep it.
