  1. 'Peatland enzymic latch' mechanism, is a process in which plants absorb pollutants which in turn become trapped preventing the re-release of the pollution. This mechanism has enormous implications for the water industry, scientists are currently working with Welsh Water to identify catchment scale management techniques that can improve water quality.
