Could someone flying from arizona leave at 3pm her time and arrive in milan, italy at 8am the next morning?

is that possible given the time zone differences (8am being gmt time)? possible as in with a regular commercial flight, not like in a jet plane

The minimum flying time (not counting layovers) is about 13 hours.  Add to that the 8 hours time zone change and you have at the very least 21 hours.  3PM to 8 AM is 17 hours so the answer is "No."
