Could someone give me ideas for food at a party?

i am having an outdoor luau party for my twin 5yr olds for about 25 people. i would like them to be " theme " based but have to be able to withstand some heat

  1. chicken and pineapple skewers and a fruit skewer like watermelon, cantalope, strawberries


  2. These are not all theme based but we  had these appetitizers at a party and they went over really well.

    Taco Dip:

    2 softened cream cheese.

    1 16oz sour cream

    1 packet taco seasoning.

    Mix with mixer. Put in bottom of a cookie sheet. Top with shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and green onions. Use the cheese but you can altered the rest to your taste, maybe add black olives. Make 2 of these. Serve with tostitos scoops.  

    Fruit bowl,.

    Whole pineppple into chunks. Slice strawberries. Add whole table grapes no seeds, add chunks of watermelon, and cut oranges in slices cut into triangles.     It is just shaved deli meat and cheese triangles. You dont have to put lettuce on them, ours did not have it. t. The ones that we had catered just had real butter on them and they had mayo and mustard packets on ice on the side.

    6 cups Crispix cereal

    1/2 cup peanut butter

    1/2 cup butter

    12 ounce chocolate chips

    2 cups powdered sugar

    Melt peanut butter, butter and chocolate chips together in the microwave or on the stove. Stir into cereal. Put powdered sugar in a paper sack. Put cereal mixture in and shake until well coated.

  3. Luau is usually Pork BBQ.

    1 6-7 lb Pork Roast (Boston Butt/Shoulder)

    Demon Pig BBQ Rub

    2 bottles "Demon Pig BBQ Sauce"

    Trim Excess fat from roast. Sprinkle with Demon Pig BBQ Rub.

    Cook on grill with indirect heat at 225/250 degrees for 6 hours to an internal temp of 160 degrees. (This can be done in an oven or bbq smoker.)

    Place in pan with 1/2 cup water, cover and place back on heat for one hour to finish 190 Degees F internal temp. Remove from heat, let stand 30 minutes. Carefully uncover. Let stand an additional 15 minutes.

    Pull and chop meat to just under bite size pieces.

    Warm "Demon Pig BBQ Sauce" slightly and mix thoroughly until lightly covered throughout meat. Serve additional sauce warm on the side.

    Serve on buns with your favorite sides.

    EASY RIBS

    3 - 4 pounds pork ribs, cut up

    1/2 cup soy sauce

    1/2 cup ketchup

    1/2 c brown sugar, packed

    1/2 cup honey

    1 clove garlic, minced

    1 small piece ginger, peeled and minced

    Place ribs in large pot and add enough water to cover.  Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer about 40 minutes.  

    Combine rest of ingredients in large glass dish.  Marinate overnight.  Broil or grill ribs over medium coals until nicely browned, basting occasionally.

    Cheese and pineapple sticks instead of using cocktail sticks you can use those little umbrellas.

    A wonderful fruit salad in a halved coconut with mango, pineapple, starfruit, melon, banana and papaya's.

    Hawaiian Pizza - cheese ham and pineapple

    Coconut Shrimp

    Ingredients:

    24 large raw shrimp, peeled

    1/2 cup all-purpose flour

    2 eggs slightly beaten

    3 cups shredded coconut

    24 - 6 inch wooden skewers

    Preparation:

    Insert one skewer in each shrimp leaving 2-3 inches of the skewer protruding..

    Dredge shrimp in flour, then in eggs. Roll the shrimp through shredded coconut, covering them thoroughly.

    Deep fry shrimp at about 375 F, until they are brown.

    Serve with cocktail sauce to which crushed pineapple is added according to taste.

    FOR THE ADULTS

    BLUE HAWAII

    1 oz light rum

    2 oz pineapple juice

    1 oz Blue Curacao

    1 oz Cream of coconut

    1 slice pineapple

    1 cherry

    Blend light rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut with one cup of ice in an electric blender at high speed. Pour contents into a highball glass. Decorate with the slice of pineapple and a cherry
