I am going to travel with coach from London to Paris. When I tried to book my tickets, I have the following two options: Ave du General de Gaulle Bagnolet and Paris (La Defense).

My hotel is close to Louvre. Which stop is closer to city centre?

Many thanks for your help.

  1. Paris metro map is in the source. Defense is on the far left (upper part of the map, and Ave du General de Gaulle Bagnolet  is on the far right [stop is called Galleni on line #3].

Eurostar takes you to "Gare du Nord" in the center of the map. I do not understand the advantage of travelling by coach when you have a high speed train.

  2. Bagnolet is closer to the Louvre compare to Defense.

But in defense the transports services are a lot better and direct to the center of Paris with RER and Defense is nice to see.

Bagnolet is not the best area in Paris...

Anyway it's not a lot of difference Defense is west of the center and Bagnolet is east of the center.

    I would take Defense.

I am french from parisian area.

  3. The distance is not really the question but the ease of getting from the Eurolines bus stop to your hotel.

Based on this you should choose the La Defense stop since you can get to the Louvre by just hoping on the Metro Line 1 (Direction : Chateau de Vincennes) and taking it directly to the  Palais-Royal (Musee du Louvre) stop. From the Galieni stop you would need to change metro lines.
