Could someone help me with my snail?

I recently bought a Betta and a snail for my tiny tank a few months ago. I was a little worried that the snail had nothing to eat so I was getting concerned. I researched and found that they could eat veggies such as lettuce. Yesterday, I did a water change and put in a very tiny piece of romaine lettuce and a tiny piece of carrot on the bottom of the tank for him. He seemed so happy and ate a little. I removed the food later and everything was great. Today, I came home from work and I think the snail has died. Was it something that I did? I feel so bad about this because everything was great before. If someone could help me figure out what happen, I would appreciate it. Will my Betta get sick as well because of this? Help!

  1. maybe when you bought it

    was sick.

About the betta i think if the snail been dead for a whole day i think ya your betta will die.

  2. it could be that the lettuce or carrot did not be washed or it had chemicals on it

  3. There are plenty explanations for this, you said you did a water change? did you put the drops in the water that you need? or did you use filtered/clean water? did you have a safe container to deliver the water? or was the snail just sick when you bought it? or it could have developed something from the lettuce or carrot..were they clean? they probably had pesticides in it..or there may be one other thing...your Betta might has something that it's immune system is used to and the snail got it...i Don't know since i cant see it..but i hope i helped! best wishes!!
