I need help with these two problems, I'm not good with simplifying.

Simplify:

3*20 + 6*5

*8 . *6 . *7

BY THE WAY, (*) equals a square root sign since i can't use one on IE

  1. 3Sqrt(20) + 6Sqrt(5) = 3Sqrt(5*4) + 6Sqrt(5) = 6Sqrt(5) + 6Sqrt(5) = 12Sqrt(5)

The substituions used above are (perhaps obviously):

    20 = (5*4)

    Sqrt(5*4) = Sqrt(5)*Sqrt(4)

    Sqrt(4) = 2

The 2nd expression makes no sense as it appears in my browser.

*8.*6.*7    What operation does the (.) represent?

Obviously, others  assumed  (.) represented multiplication.

    Sqrt(8) = Sqrt(4*2) = 2Sqrt(2)

Sqrt(6) and Sqrt(7) do not simplify

  2. Here it is:

    3*20 + 6*5

    First simplify 20.

    6*5 + 6*5

    Then add.

    12*5

(Note: You can only add/subtract numbers if you have the same number inside the square roots.)

    --------------------------------------...

    *8 . *6 . *7

Simplify the number that can be simplified.

    2*2 . *6 . *7

    Final answer is 2*2 . *6 . *7

(Note: this is the simplest form.)

    Hope this helps. =)

  3. No.

  4. 3√20+6√5

    3√4√5+6√5

    3*2√5 +6√5

    6√5 +6√5

    12√5

    *8 . *6 . *7

    √4√2√3√2√7

    2 *4√21

    8√21

  5. 3 x *(4 x5) + 6*5 =

    3x2 *5 + 6*5 =

    6*5 + 6*5 =

    12*5

    *8 = 2*2

    *6 =*6

    *7 = *7
