Question:

Could someone inform me if the area close to Eiffel tower is safe during the evening?

I found a hotel very close to Eiffel Tower (10 mins walking distance) and I am thinking of booking it. I would like to ask whether that area is safe for two girls during the night. Also, how far are the rest of the attractions from that side of the city? Is there an underground stop near there?

Many thanks for your help.

  1. Paris is generally a very safe city with very little violent crime within the city itself. the area around the Eiffel tower is perfectly safe.

The excellant public transportation system is very dense which means that there is a Metro or RER stop within a few minutes walk of every address in the city. Getting around to the other sights will be no problem.

The only drawback to th area is that is a little bit inconvenient if you're going to be heading for the popular entertainment areas for younger people that are more heavily concentrated in  in the 4th, 5th and 6th arrondissments.

  2. I was in Paris earlier this week.

I was around the Eiffel Tower at about 11 o'clock one night, the only bad thing is that there is a lot of guys trying to sell light up eiffel towers and key chains and they can be pretty persistent, just don't look at them and most of them won't get your attention. The nearest metro station from the Eiffel Tower is about 5-10 minute walk and I think its called Bir-Hakeim but I'm not sure. The attractions aren't far as long as you use the Metro. I suggest buying a ticket for the metro that lasts as long as you need, e.g. when I was there I bought a 2 day ticket, and you can use it as often as you like.

Also, I'd watch out in the Metro Stations/ on the Metro as there is quite alot of creepy people. And if someone tries to stop you with a piece of thread wanting to 'borrow your finger' walk away and ignore them.

    Good luck!

  3. Because of the amount of police France has out and about you'll be quite safe, they also have the military walking about. There is a station close to the tower and depending on your physical capabilities everything is with walking distance but using the tube is going to be quicker. If using tubes you should buy a 'carne' which is like a book of tickets, works out alot cheaper. The louvre, orangery (monet), concorde plaza, champs and the arc de tri are a good day out. If stood at the louvre you can see all the way up to the arc.

    bon voyage.

  4. Its perfectly sound and the metro's all over the place, never to far away.

  5. its probably the safest place

  6. its fine lots of tourists and police around but with evrey city they are not so safe places

  7. Its safe. If it wasn't safe then no one would be aloud there.
