You know, I don't often offer critiques, but I'm going to say, "Yes -- it works."

With time and a little more editing ("ovoid" to "avoid" for example) and fewer adjectives (leave something to the reader's imagination), it will be a pleasure to read.

Most often, I quit after the first couple of paragraphs, but I actually did read the whole thing, and checked out the rest of your site. I think you've done a fantastic job of putting the site together to use as a vehicle to promote your writing. Good for you!

Now the task ahead of you is to KEEP IT UP! Write often and update your blog as quickly as you can or your audience will get bored. There are probably millions of incomplete (or halted) blogs out there, and I am one of the guilty parties. So write on!
