Question:

Could someone reccommend good quality earphones please?

Hello, I own an iPod video and separate Apple earphones. The earphones I bought about a year ago and cost £20 from an Apple store. However now they have become very crackly and distorted - music sounds like someone scrunching up a crisp packet. I'd like to know, in detail, please;

1. The cause of the distortion; I've heard it could be the wires coming loose from the actual earphone/speaker thing that goes in your ear? If this true, if not, why is it, and is it due to misuse, or just old age?

2. If you could reccommend a good-quality pair of earphones.

- I have £40 to spend, and I'd like the best-possible sound quality for that price.

- Obviously must be compatible with iPods

- Will last a long time

- Preferably ones that block out outside sound

Thankyou very much!

Issy

  1. IT's normally due to cheap wires and old age. misuse could be a problem to, for example putting to much pressure, sitting on them. stuff like that. For £40, i can recommend alot, Creative Ep-630, Creative Ep-830, JAYS j-jays, Ultimate ears metro fi 100, metro fi 150, metro fi 200, altec lansing uhp306. All these are very high quality earphones, all fit ipods, sound quality is excellent for price (may have to do some EQ tweaking on ipod), durable, and are all in ear earphones that block out noise.

    Hope this has helped and good luck on finding YOUR pair
