Could sonny liston touch his knees? was his reach really the reason he was good?

his reach doesnt look that long i mean its up to his thighs...

im six 1 and im up to half way thighs..doesnt seem that long..

Well, according to boxrec, his reach was 33 inches measured from the armpit to the end of the fist and he was 6 feet tall.  I have never heard that he could touch his knees while standing, but I DO know the reason why he was good- he could punch like h**l and he scared the S**t out of anyone that was in the same room with him.  Floyd Patterson is a great fighter, but he was already mentally beat before he even signed the contract to fight Liston.  Thats why some people call Liston, "The original Mike Tyson."  Ali was able to beat him because he was the faster and better boxer and he outsmarted him with his fast combinations.  Even though his reign at the top of the heavyweight division was very short, he was still a h**l of a fighter.
