  1. Absolutely!!!!!  These Special Education students strive to do their best like some of us don't even try...but it is part of their living life to survive.....Their disibilities is they have to learn at a slower pace but they absorb more information so they are able to be successful in everything they do....They are very intelligent and Special...Yes, I think some could be successful in College too.........Some can do for themselves and some can't...the ones that can't they need special care from their  families or a health care giver at home or a Special facility to care for them......I have work with Special Education Students and was shock at how  they can remember and do things you have taught them....They are God's Gifted Children who were brought to us for a special reason.......

  2. Absolutely! Where there is a will, there is a way!

It really depends on how bad you want to succeed.

I struggled all my life because of a learning disability

in Math, but I got a bachelors degree and several

teaching credentials. College is 90% dedication

and 10% academics. The good thing about most

colleges is that they have disabled student services

that promote equality amongst students with disabilities

and integrating them as much as possible in the general

population. It took me forever to graduate, but its not about

where or how long it took you to get there, its all about where you're going ;-)

  3. Of Course!! duh what a stupid question! Just because they do not learn the same as others does not mean they are a failure. It just means they have to try harder.

  4. Yes!!!

  5. Absolutely! I have a "perception" disability and I am successful and can handle anything anyone else can academically. It depends on the severity of the learning disability though. Many children are misdiagnosed with a learning disability when the schools don't know why they are falling behind. I hated school and it was hard for me because I learn differently and look at life differently. It's not fair to be pigeonholed. I was literally told by other classmates that I was stupid. It's hard but we can do the same things as anyone else and some are actually very intelligent, even superior, than their peers.

  6. it was hard for me. and I don't have the additional limitations many of them do... God Bless Em'.

  7. definatly,

I'm not sure about college, but in life

    For sure.

maybe a trade school would be better than a reg. college
