Like Arabs an Jews ? There are some things in common between the languages , like the alphabet sounds used .

If not , where could they have come from ? The original WHITE people of Africa ?

  1. they are not semitic. their language is related to the basque language. they are originally from spain and are the descendants of the mysterious guancho-people of the canary islands who were in turn descendants from ancient iberian and tartessain people of spain and portugal whose languages belonged to the same family as basque.

  2. Ostensibly, according to The Bible -- and The Quoran (Koran) -- the Arabic and Jewish lineage are interlinked. Each is held to descend from a different brother -- Isaac and Esau -- if memory serves, but whom from who I don't recollect.

Besides language and lineage commonalities there are a good many others, possibly more than differences, but it's the differences that matter.

  3. It seems, according to this wikipedia article, that yes, they are. Check it out. Also, in the search, type berber. It will give quite a nice history.

  4. The various Berber languages spoken by those identified by the term "Berber" are part of the broader Afro-Asiatic language family which includes the Semitic languages (like Hebrew and Arabic).  The languages are, however, distinct from the Semitic languages, though they are related as they belong to the same language family.

While not absolutely clear, the linguistic, genetic, and archaeological evidence points to origins combining population groups from sub-Saharan Africa and the near East.
