  1. ALI was in much better shape the second time around.  Spinks didn't change much.  He lost a lot of money and wasn't as focused as he was in the first fight.  Still,  ALI-Sept. beats either version, or any other version of Spinks.

  2. probably not. However, I love your question and just have to mention that I have met Leon Spinks at the Boxing Hall of Fame, and the man is an absolute gem. He was very gracious to the fans, as are most boxers at the hall of fame (there are exceptions, believe me, Barry McGueiun. I know I'm misspelling but that d**n UK lightweight from the early 80's, total a*****e). Leon is tops in my book, and after meeting him, I'm glad he has his little place in history.

  3. interesting, but i say no, because i would think that a properly motivated and in shape ali would have neutralized l spinks combo's and stole the majority of the rounds.

  4. Absolutely not.  Ali took Spinks lightly the first time, but was in better shape and all business the second fight.  The result would have been the same.  Ali by decision easily.

  5. No way. Although in the first Spinks ran on nervious energy throughout the whole fight, Ali took him way too lightly and was well out of shape, flat footed and out of gas.

Second fight Ali had to regain his pride and was in great shape.

Interesting, money never drove Ali in that second fight he fought on heart (that's a true champion)
