Could the Palin's family get any more normal?

So often I heard people say they were tired of politicians as usual; they wanted normal people in Washington. Could they get any more "normal" then Sarah Palin.

Her husband is a blue collar laborer for an oil company and member of a union for the same job; he also has a commercial fishing license and does that in season.

They have one home I believe and are not multi millionares.

They have 5 kids and the oldest is headed into the army and the second oldest is now pregnant while still living at home.

It just doesn't get any more normal then this does it? Hockey Mom for VP!

  1. How do you define normal.  My mom was a immigrant in this country 30 years ago, she raised two kids put us through college and is now the COO of a multi million dollar company.  I would never vote for her as president.  If all it took to be president was to be a great mom there are way better options then Palin.

  2. Yeah, but her cred as a family values advocate kind of goes out the window though.

  3. Yes, certainly

  4. If the Palin's are a normal family, then I have to question GOP 'moral values'.  Dad's had a DWI, 17 daughter is pregnant...and this is just what we've learned in the first week.  Sure that kinda stuff happens to normal people, but then again most 'normal' people don't claim to be the chosen ones and judge anyone they don't feel lives up to their moral standards.  If republicans are going to claim to be the religious right, then they need to be able to stomach the negative publicity.

I just can't wait to see how the GOP will somehow make this pregnancy Obama's fault.  Or Hillary's fault...since everything bad, ever, has always been all her fault.

Sigh....another reason for me to avoid the news.

  5. Yes she's got a normal family.  She's the one who preaches anti-abortion, anti-birth control, pro-abstinence only education.  The hypocrisy is hilarous.

  6. If she didn't have the good sense to teach her daughter about birth control, then she doesn't have the good sense to be a sickly heartbeat away from the most powerful position in the world.

  7. I guess I can understand how some people might feel good about having a VP who is average just like everyone else. Maybe it makes them feel better and a little less inadequate.

Personally, I think that the person who is second in line to run this country needs to be a fair degree above average in terms of their acheivements. But that's just me.

  8. You are correct. There are millions of American families just like them. Black, White, and everything in between.^

  9. I would have to agree with you.

  10. She is U.S.
