Question:

Could the Powerball game be rigged somehow?

People consider some numbers extremely lucky or unlucky due to their superstitious beliefs--13. Others consider numbers from the Christian bible as divinely cursed or blessed such as: 7, 9, and 666. Well I noticed all the media attention given to July 07, 2007 as a very lucky day to play the lottery--777. I looked at the winning numbers and saw something interesting. If the numbers are totally random then what is it saying?

07/07/07 15-21-27-41-47 PowerBall: 20 (PowerPlay: 3)

If you take a close look at the numbers,

15 + 6 = 21, 21 + 6 = 27, and 41 + 6 = 47 666

Could the game be rigged somehow? Was this a deliberate attempt at humor? Or was it totally random with an interesting outcome?

  1. Absolutely.  Very few things involving large sums of money are NOT rigged.

  2. Every watched the movie "23"  Its the way humans work, we see what we wanna see.

  3. I doubt it, good observation though.

  4. Kabalic system of gambling? Lets throw lots, lol.

No need to rig the game. The odds are like 42,000,000:1 Pretty good math for the government bookie, doncha think?

777-666=111 1+1+1=3 3+1+1+1=6 add all those numbers and you have 1788 and on July 7 of that year http://www.consource.org/index.asp?bid=5...

So there ya have it! The lottery is fixed and so are the herring barrels!

  5. Totally random. You were the one that put the 6s in there.

  6. It would be impossibel to rig the lottery, because no matter what number they draw, there still remains the possibility that somebody guessed them prior to them being drawn.  If the lottery did decide to pick numbers to be drawn and then force them to be drawn, such as making a joke with the numbers liek you suggested, it would not have the effect of "rigging" the game since the odds of somebody selecting those numbers is the same as they are for any randomly generated series of numbers, the only thing it woudl accomplish is to provide a vulnerability where the player could through inside information find out what the numbers were before they were drawn, this woudl only pose a security risk to the operators of the lotery so they probibly wont do it ever, since its not in their best interest.

The patterns and trends are all in your head,  you can probibly find a patern or trend or corelation between ANY random string of numbers. like the happen to be all player numbers from some sports team, or they are all birthdates of musicians, or ANYTHING your imagination can concoct
