  1. I somehow doubt it.  Is the language of Ghengis Khan responsible for his empire?  How about French?  Russian?

Sorry, but I have little else to say but "that's silly".

  2. No! It's like saying 'Arabic' was responsible for their success. Arabs at one time were super power and advanced compared to West. Before Arabic Greek was lingua franca.

In a nut shell the success was due to 'Industrial revolution' and 'Colonization'. Countries like China, Singapore, India etc are rapidly catching up.

  3. No.. All languages portray the same thing: words, thoughts, expression. No language could possibly 'trump' another in this regard.

What is responsible for western culture's success could be a variety of things. There are more social, moral, religious, career freedoms. There are a lot more choices one can choose from in order to live their life. These don't necessarily deem Western Civilization's 'success', but differences from Eastern Civilization.

  4. No. The actions of Alexander the Greats military triumphs and spread of Ancient Greek thought/culture over the near and middle east coupled with the Ancient Romans continued spread of Greek/Hellenistic thought/ideals throughout the rest of Europe and North Africa combined with the later British Empire's spread of Rule of Law and Western thought to the rest of its' global dominion is what is responsible for Western culture's success over Eastern culture. Had the French or Spanish been more proactive with instilling Rule of Law within their own colonial regions as well as a tradition of political/economic stability in their areas of influence; then the world might be speaking more French or Spanish in matters of business rather than English.

Apologies for the run on sentances.

    Cheers
