Could the paranormal activity in my home be caused by something I did many years ago?

I posted something on here a few days ago regarding weird stuff going on in my home, mostly my bedroom. Some people mentioned demons and negative energy....or that somehow I could be drawing this negativity to me.

This is the house I was born and raised in, and now as an adult am living there to help my retired mother. When I was a teenager my friend and I brought a satanic bible into the house, just goofing off and wanting to see what it said. It gave us the creeps and we threw it out the next day. I also used tarot cards for a short time. I also got rid of them for a similar reason, when I started using them I had a hard time sleeping at night, like someone or something was there with me. It creeped me out so I got rid of them as well. My question is, since this stuff happened such a long time ago, it is possible its the cause of what is happening now??

Are you open-minded to the possibility that this is all in your imagination?  For example, you dabble in the "occult" and then all of a sudden strange things happen.  Could it be possible that such things happen normally and you only consider them paranormal after the fact because you dabbled in the occult?  It sounds like this dabbling had a psychological affect on you.  Now you are entertaining the idea that your past actions have caused what you perceive to be paranormal events.  How do you know there isn't another cause at work here?

"Energy" is a term abused by paranormalists and New Age adherents.  It is an imaginary substance when used in such contexts.  Energy is a measurable output of work, not some spiritual residue that can be magically attracted to a person based on his/her actions.  To say otherwise is pure fantasy.

The short answer is that if it wasn't there to begin with it couldn't be there unless invited.

What about Ouija board and Seances?

If so, then yep. You should do a whole house clearing, use the Indian Sage Technique and Holy Water.

If there wasn't any channeling going on then I would say Wayne's answer looks most appropriate as well.

I seriously doubt that Tarot cards or Satanic bibles are the cause. I doubt that any items people make trigger paranormal events. However I think people trying to get in touch with the spirits are the cause. You being creeped out is most likely just a human response, you see something creepy, you keep an eye out for anything and you eventually get paranoid, especially during the night when you try to sleep. I have that feeling constantly at night and it just gets worse and worse as I think about it. If you or somebody else has tried to contact a spirit though, that may be the reason for the events that are happening. If anyone has ever used Ouija boards, held seances or anything similar in your house at any time in history, that is most likely what stirred them up in the first place.

in short the answer is yes.you have inadvertently invited

harmfull spirits into your home.the only way to get rid of them is through prayer.you need to find a servant of christ and

have them come to your house to pray and bless your

house and its entire contents.we had a spirit in our house,it

came in with a piece of furniture given to my daughter by a friend who had been messing with ouwiji boards.you will not find

a servant of god in main stream churches .you will have to hunt around and find out where they meet.

The longer you live in a haunted house the more it will effect you and your family over time.Sometimes the effects may be negative and sometimes the effects may be positive.If you tend to be a negative person and worry all the time  and don;t realize your house is haunted then the problem will only get worst over time.If you a positive person who does not worry about nothing and realize your house is haunted then problems can only get better.For me i was a nice positive person who believed in spirits and haunted houses.Unfortunatly i had another problem that you may have too.No matter how positive you are.If you live with very negitive and depressive relitives for too long.It will rub off of you and bring you down.Get away from negitive people and your life may change for the better.

Negative energy builds up over time. You need to replace the negative energy with pure cleansing energy. How you do this depends on your spiritual beliefs.

This is a good example of how power of suggestion breeds belief.  Somebody put the ideas of demons and "negative energy" in your head from your last question, prompting you to mine your past and see if you can find anything that supports those notions. Now you've got demons on your mind.

But in a sense, the perceived "paranormal activity" in your home could be a function of the past simply because your past experiences & beliefs have sensitized you to paranormal happenings and hauntings. But the correct answer is still the same as before, you are experiencing the power of suggestion, not ghosts.

If you really want to believe in demons & satanic bibles and so forth, there is the Religion & Spirituality category that can encourage you in this belief. However, since Paranormal presently resides in Science & Math, I'll encourage you to take the rational route and reject mystical explanations when there are natural explanations to be had.

Certainly, we open doors to certain paranormal events by our actions. A question, "What are you doing now that could be inviting those spirits"? Sometimes, unknowingly, through what we watch on television or the books we read, we invite negative spirits into our lives.

In my opinion..YES. In hindsight, I can look back and see things that I did that were connected with  things that happened to me. Even though they were done in ignorance and fun...they still had effects on my life. And, it has left me very confused..not being able still to tell which of the spiritual things were good and which were evil.
