Question:

Could there be a warrant out for my arrest?

The highway patrolman nailed me. Dead to rights. I was speeding. He took his time pulling out, and the next exit was mine, so I exited. He went blazing down the highway, past the exit, with lights flashing. I went home. Then it hit me...Could I be in trouble? How would I find out short of calling the highway patrol and saying "Hey, I was speeding, are you looking for me?"

  1. If he got your license plate...he's got your name and address.  Wait for a ticket to arrive in the mail.  Otherwise...maybe he wasn't interested in you and something else came up.  Cops tend to be pretty good about exiting when the guy they're chasing exits..especially if they're right behind him.  It's not like you lost him in a ahigh-speed chase...right?  I wouldn't fret it.  He probably had bigger fish to fry just then.

  2. Are you paranoid? He did not stop you so calm down. But to be on the safe side, stay off the highway till your 65. Then you can breath a sigh of relief.

  3. Don't worry about it.  That happens all the time.

Sometimes they do that just to see if you'll take off.

I had that happen to me in my GT with open headers.  A cop spun around and came after me, but I continued along at a normal speed.  He got lost in traffic.  Had he come behind me with the lights flashing, I'd have pulled over.  Since then, I've talked with him and he said he doesn't even remember...

    Seriously, don't worry about it.

  4. uhhh, dude, if you were speeding and he were able to get you, he would've followed you and stopped you, i think what you experience was a cop that got a call on his CB radio from a more serious crime going on and let you off the hook.

take it easy. save your speeding for a race track, if that's possible.
