Question:

Could these grades take me to medical school?

I have just received my GCSE results and I have the following grades:

Art: A

Drama:A

IT: A* A*

English Lit:A

English Lang :C (soo upset going to get that remarked)

R.E: B (1 mark away from an A going to get that remarked)

Science additional :B

Science:B

Tech R.M : B

Maths: B (soo close to an A :( and i'm aslo getting that remarked )

i'm a little disappointed because I know I could have done ALOT better it all come down to luck i guess. I'm a very hard working girl and hope to do better in my A levels(i'm doing biology, chemistry ,IT and english Lit) HELP! :|

  1. It might be different in the UK, but in the US your chances of getting into med school with these grades would be nil. You must have at least a 3.5 out of 4.0 and preferably a 3.7 or 3.8 in your science classes to be admitted. That means nearly all A's with an occasional B.

    THe most basic course for future MD's is chemistry, so how you do in your chemistry class will foreshadow how you might do in Med School, and the med schools know that and will be looking to see what result you made in chem.  


  2. Well I've read alot of these questions/ answers. Everyone say GCSE grades do not matter when your applying to medical school. They will be looking at your undergraduate grades ( 4 years at a university.)

    I also think biology is more popular/ used more in medical school than chemistry.  

  3. Yes and even if you don't get into a university at first, you can attend community college and transfer your grades to a university.
