Could this be a good career for me?

I am still young, but very smart about baseball. I play baseball, I know the game, the rules, and stuff like that. If I don't make the Majors playing on a team, I would like to be a score keeper or a scout. I keep track of a lot of the Twins games, so I know how to work the book. It's easy for me, and I like doing it. I keep track of AB's, Hits, Runs, RBI, SB, BB, K, and more.

Would this be a good career for me?

  1. It's a possibility. I'm actually debating whether or not to go into sports journalism. Find something you'll like. I'd go for it. :]

  2. You should try becoming a sports journalist. That's the best way to getting into baseball if you don't make it in the majors. You'd be around a lot of baseball as a beat writer for a team.

  4. I'm pretty sure most if not all of the MLB scorekeepers are current or former baseball writers so if that's what you want to do you'll probably need to go to college and get a journalism degree.

I believe scouts are usually older people who have been involved in the game in one way or another for a long time.
