my friend is always talking about herself and her problems and stuff, like she texted me at six o clock in the morning to tell me she played strip poker with her neighbor and i hadn't spoken to her in over a month. she also will be really happy one moment like laughing her head off at absolutely nothing, then she will be crying and won't tell me what is wrong. she also lies almost compulsively. could she be bipolar?

  1. yes she could certainly be biopolar and doesnt even realise somethings wrong.. she needs to adress this and get help, if shes diagnosed then she can take medication to control it and speak to someone. shes not the only one that has this (thats if she has it)

it could be biopolar and adhd, she'll have to see someone, but if you mention this to her she might get annoyed wit you, maybe bring it up gently or tell her a story about someone you know that has it... mention the symptoms (without getting caught out)

  2. It sounds to me like she has a depression issue, because of the laughing one minute and crying the next. But it also sounds like she's a little bit of a "me, me, me" kind of person. I think her lying is just a character flaw, to say the least.

  3. she sounds bipolar.

  4. why is it when ever anyone acts a little different they are always "diagnosed" with bi polar?

there are many forms of bi polar - some of  which follow the same pattern as a borderline personality disorder. (BPD)

i think she really need to get a ref to as psych so she can have a proper diagnosis and get the right treatment.

  5. very very possible but i beleive most people get angry when bipolar she might need to go to a therapist to get diagnosed or she might just be like a diffrent attitude ? but hey who knows

  6. Yes, it's entirely possible. I have a brother and sister who are type 1 bipolar. Talk to her about it.... her problems may not seem like a big deal, but they can be serious in her mind. Just be there for her and if you can, get her to go to a therapist. If she's a teenager it could just be hormones, though. Bipolar disorder can be very difficult to handle so just try to support her.

  7. possibly she has some sort of problem maybe you could speak to one of her relatives xx

  8. It could be bi-polar, substance abuse, post traumatic stress disorder, immaturity, attention deficit disorder, and a whole bunch of other things.  What matters is that you don't pretend with her that everything is normal when it seems abnormal.  Maybe you can get the help of a parent or counselor to help her see what you see without feeling judged or threatened.

  9. Yes or depression

  10. yes or slightly schizo ..she shuld see a therapist or counsellor

  11. yeah im agreeing to bipolar for sure.

  12. Bipolor.

  13. hehe i would say that she is a lil insane in the membrane

  14. could be but if she isnt bipolar she has some type of mental illness thats not normal!

  15. It's hard to diagnose someone, a doctor or psychologist would have to make that decision, but impulsive mood swings (mania and depression) are signs of bi-polar.

The best thing I think would just be to encourage her to maybe speak with someone professionally and be as supportive as you can.

Bi-polar is a very real and difficult illness to have.

  16. yeah i agree with the person thats at the top of tha page
