ok so ive got a panasonic 65" plasma coming in a few weeks. and ive only just learnt about image retention and image burn on tvs..

i was wondering would be ok to use the image burn dvd that i downloaded off the net to stop any image retention...

would i seriously have to leave my tv on a very low contrast for something like 200hrs??

  1. Panasonic plasma TVs have one of the best resistance to burn-in. You will need to harden your phosphor off the first 100 hours. Leave your picture setting on standard and your picture and brightness settings to 50%. Keep the screen full these first 100 hours and moving; no static images. These are the best precautions during the break-in period. After this break-in period you should be just fine as long as you do not leave partial static images on your TV for weeks without change. Hours will not be a problem. If you do notice burn-in, just run a full screen DVD for 2-3 hours. Better yet, run a full screen slide show from the SD card slot. You will not need any fancy DVD.
