Could this be a virus!!!!!!!!!!!?

Question

every once and a while my computer makes this loud beep sound

like the beep you hear when someones about to come over a speaker and talk like in a store or over an intercom like at school? or something

i have my battery plugged in and its not about to die or anything!

it freaks me out!

does anyone know what it could be?

It could be some kind of hardware failure, go to the manufactor site and look up beep codes for your specific machine. hope this helps

check to see if you have an enermax galaxy power supply, it is a known issue and occurs when the power supply thinks that its fan is running at too low of an rpm.  Other instances could be your motherboard briefly sensing a fan failure for the cpu or an over temp reading for the cpu.  You could eliminate the possibilty of an over temp by insuring that the cpu heatsink is free from dust and the cpu fan is not failing.
