Question:

Could this be an ear infection?

Today I started having weird pains in my ear. They come in waves and feel like blood rushing and it starts slow and then really hurts. It gets tight and then feels like something is flowing and the pressure really hurts. First it happened about once an hour and then it started happening about every five minutes. It really hurts. I put in Hydrogen Peroxide and that was awful, but it still hurts. Also, I have been known for having really waxy ears. I cleaned out my ears, too.

Please help!!!

Thank you!!!

  1. Its hard to determine what the cause is. Ear infections can cause pressure, but I am not a professional and wouldnt feel comfortable trying to diagnose.   I would advise NOT to put anything in the ear, just incase you have a tear in your eardrum, getting anything into the middle ear can cause infection and other problems.  Some OTC topical meds and even rubbing alcohol can be harmful to your ear and can even in some cases cause permanent damage.  See a physican as soon as possible.  When cleaning your ears, DO NOT put anything bigger than your elbow inside your ear, especially q-tips and things like that, it is easy to perferate an eardrum.  You can ask your physician about the amount of ear wax you produce and they can remove the earwax or suggest the proper method of removal.

  2. I would reccomend taking motrin depending on your age and body weight. it really seems to help with pains including ear aches.
